Hacks

Please do not confuse "hack" with "crack."  These are two completely different activities associated with computers.  One of my favorite movies is " Hackers (1995)" which has bastardized the term "hack."

Hackers are computer users who understand the "ins and outs" of computers, networks, and the Internet in general. Hackers are generally benign (http://www.westlakecommunications.co.uk/glossary.htm).   One thing most people don't realize is that "hacking" is a term applied to anyone in any field who works hard into the wee hours of the night doing something that most others wouldn't appreciate.  It has specifically been applied to computers and electronics because it generally involves "hacking away at a keyboard" all night.  Crackers, on the other hand, are what the media has given the term "hackers."  You don't HACK the serial number and registration codes to stolen software, you CRACK them.  Perhaps this will assist noobs in finding cracks for their pirated software.

That being said, you can expect my "cracking" section to be posted soon. ;-)
